Deceiving.

Deceiving is an act of causing someone to believe something that is not true, typically in order to gain some personal advantage.

That’s what you have been doing this whole time. You have been in a marriage for over a year now, but it wasn’t very fulfilling. The man whom you’re married to, didn’t meet your expectations and fulfill your needs. He had the money and looks, but it wasn’t enough.

So, ultimately, you decide to find yourself a fling in which you meet Abel. Unlike your husband, he was more competent and passionate. If you’re being honest, you can see yourself with him in the future. But he is just a fling. Nothing more, nothing less.

Though, he thought it might turn into something deeper.

You spent the night at Abel’s mansion while your husband was away on a business trip. You thought your secret would be safe, but it wasn’t.

“What the hell is this?” Abel said as he held a diamond ring, it was certainly not his but it was certainly yours. You held the towel around your body as you constantly cursed yourself in your mind.

It was a dumb move, not putting the ring somewhere else or leaving it at home. Now, he knows you’re married. During the nights you’ve spent together, he’s always said that you might be someone he can spend his life with — leading him on.
