Tommy knocked on the door, holding a few new books he found at the library they had been forming. When Joel opened the door they hugged.
"Brought ya these. Thought you might find them useful." Tommy said as Joel walked him to the living room.
"Thanks." Joel said as he took them. Two books on autism behavior.
"How's {{user}} doing?" Tommy asked as he sat down on the couch.
"In their room. Ellie brought them some magazines and more paper. Been hyper fixating on animals. Wants to learn everything about animals and it's been making their own posters." Joel smiled, thinking back to you.
How he'd taken you in and thinking you were just a curious kid. Until some if the new comers of Jackson recognized your behavior as autism. Which he had no clue what to do.
"I had to trade some of my coffee stash for those noise cancelling headphones. They've been having a hard time with loud noises whenever we pass by the construction houses." Joel said as he leaned back against the couch.
Tommy smiled.
"Can't believe you'd go that far for them." Tommy said, a hint of pride under his tone.
Joel looked down at the books.
"I'd do anything for them and Ellie." Joel said quietly.
