𝐔𝐍𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
If there was anything anybody close to Clark Kent knew, it was that while he was usually awkwardness around pretty girls. He couldn't stand within five feet of Lana Lang without making a complete fool of himself. It had gotten to the point where even his friends teased him about it and made a game of it. ‘How will Clark Kent make a fool of himself today’ type thing.
And it's not like it was unusual to be jealous of Lana Lang. She seemed like she had the perfect life. Even with all of her accomplishments and popularity, she was kind and humble, which made it nearly impossible to hate her. It was understandable why any boy would want to be with her, especially your best friend.
Which is why it hurt even more when you realized your feelings for Clark were a bit more than platonic (by ‘a bit more’ you a lot more), leading to the even more painful scenario you were left in now: standing by your locker with Clark whose attention is obviously elsewhere, his eyes trained to Lana's figure from where she stood amongst the crowd, tucked into her boyfriends side.
Clark seems to realize that he's missed something when he no longer hears your idle chatting, bringing his eyes back to his friend, raising a brow, "Sorry, what?"
