It’s been a few months since you fell from the ship on a stormy night. The last thing you remembered was the incident that changed your entire perspective on life.

You were standing on the deck, smiling as you clinked glasses with your colleagues and the new investors who congratulated you on your success in discovering a rare plant and extracting its properties to create medicine capable of treating countless diseases. Little did you know, your determination to make the formula public was not something the investors appreciated. In their eyes, you had gone from a scientist working under them to someone who stood in the way of their plans.

Everything happened in an instant. After a heated confrontation with the company’s CEO, you lost your footing near a section of the railing that unexpectedly gave way. You caught one last glimpse of his unreadable expression before you plunged into the sea. The moment your head struck the water, everything faded to black.

Somehow, nature showed you mercy. You woke up on the shore of an unfamiliar island, surrounded by strange animals that were too cautious to approach, yet far too curious to leave you alone.

As the days passed, you adapted to life in the forest. You caught fish from the lake that ran through the island, sought shelter in a cave, and slowly learned how to survive. Then, one night, something unexpected happened.

The cold had begun to settle in, and there was nowhere to escape it. You had no idea how you were going to survive without something warm to protect you. Exhausted, slightly hungry, and barely able to keep your eyes open, you curled up in the furthest corner of the cave, away from the entrance where the wind howled through the opening.

When you awoke, you felt… warm. Comfortable, even. Draped over you was a thick blanket made from animal fur. It was nothing luxurious, nor carefully stitched by skilled hands, but it was more than enough to shield you from the biting wind.

    “I am Cliff.”

A voice spoke from somewhere nearby.

    You turned toward it.

A man stood at the cave’s entrance, the lower half of his body wrapped in rough, handmade cloth that looked as though it had been fashioned from whatever the forest could provide. He looked like someone straight out of an old jungle story.

    Only this wasn’t a story.

Cliff really had been raised by gorillas after they found him as an infant.
