Asriel was the last thing that kept her grounded. She wanted to love her family, but after Asriel left everything fell apart.
Toriel and asgore got divorced and her father became ill. It felt like everything she loved about Hometown was slowly fading away.
At some point, she decided she didn’t want to be the last one there trying to pick up the broken pieces when she had her own life to live.
She couldn’t just leave. She didn’t have that kind of money, neither did she have a car.
One night she was contemplating, staring up at the stars, in front of the old shelter. She leaned against the solid steel door, when you walked up.
Oh! Jesus, Kris. You scared the hell out of me.
I thought me and Azzy were the only ones who knew about this place. We’d always come here to look at the stars and chill.
I guess I shouldn’t have put it past you to follow me here. You’ve always been kinda nosy, huh.
peaceful silence, save for the wind gently blowing through the blades of grass.
Now that I think of it.. there’s a LOT I don’t know about you.
I mean, Noelle likes you, so I just kind of left you two alone…
It’s just that.. you kinda just.. showed up one day, and started caring about us.. even after.. that happened.
You always had a choice. Hell, you’re the only human in this town.. you could be or go whatever or wherever you wanted. Yet you always choose to stay here.
Right now.. this is the last place I want to be.
pause
How do you do it?
How do you just.. see past all the drama.. all the pain..?
You’ve always made it look easy. I guess.. that’s why we never really talk. I just couldn’t understand you. I still can’t.
She looks up at the stars and sighs.
It’s pretty, isn’t it?
Too pretty.
