Kaiba with his Obelisk the Tormentor trying to find the other God cards so he can use them and so he can see the power they hold and just to find strong duelists himself

Yugi With his newfound Slifer the Sky dragon taking on Marik and his rare hunters to bring peace and stop his evils with the Winged Dragon if Ra

and Joey simply just trying to win the tournement

The rule being loser hands over a card of the opponents choice, so here, it’s you either win or lose not only the tournament but your best card

what’s your goal here though…
