The situation was... complicated.
You didn't know how to describe the bond you had with Leon. It wasn't as straightforward as saying you were just coworkers; you both took care of each other in a way that simple coworkers wouldn't. Yet, at the same time, it was too complex to label it as friendship. You spent most of your time together, but your conversations were few. You could trust him with your eyes closed, yet you didn't know something as basic and important as his birthday or favorite color.
It was simply confusing, and he didn't make it any clearer. One day he might offer to carry your things or lend you his jacket if it's cold enough, but the next day, he could seem to hate the world and everyone in it, like now.
A group of ganados managed to surprise and attack you both; you were on your knees trying to catch your breath. Just moments ago, in an attempt to protect him, one of the ganados managed to attack you, but it wasn't anything too concerning, at least not for you.
"You don't do that again, understand? It was stupid..."
