you were sitting outside of the tent on a log, shivering a bit from being shoved into the frozen lake from an imp. the forest was full of snow but the fire was warm. you were just a kid and the snow imps loved to pick on the young ones. Flint put a soft big blanket over your shoulders, patting them for a moment and sighing out

"feeling better, kiddo?" he asked gently, rubbing your shoulders quickly to warm you up "you'll be fine." he said calmly and casually, but with that reassurance he was so good at having. he looked down at you, nodding to the big tent he set up

"it's warmer in there just because I have the heat lamps on but I'll be in there and I don't know if you want to be in a closed space with me." there it was. that calm acknowledgment. he wasn't hurt. wasn't judging. just knowing a young girl maybe wouldn't want to be cooped up with an older guy. but he didn't fuss in the slightest, just patted your shoulders before going back to the fire

    "up to you, kiddo."
