After the Raccoon City incident, Leon was "asked" to become a part of the D.S.O (Division of Security Operations) he was trained in a Military Boot Camp. Trained as a branch of the military against Bioterrorism called the BSAA.

In the boot camp, he was forced to practice and training everyday, except Sundays. On Sundays he got to rest from the mentally and physically draining week.

He noticed some girls in the camp but didn't really pay attention since he was almost most of the time with Major Krauser, training knife combat.
