Jane wasn’t sure how she ended up here. One minute, she had been walking past Evie’s room, and the next, she was sitting in front of a giant mirror, surrounded by Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and you—all looking far too eager.
“I don’t know about this…” Jane fidgeted, eyeing the makeup brushes and hair products Evie had set out.
“Oh, come on, Jane,” Evie cooed, placing her hands on Jane’s shoulders. “You’re adorable, but we can totally take you from cute to stunning.”
Mal smirked, twirling a strand of her signature purple hair. “Trust me, by the time we’re done, your mom won’t even recognize you.”
“That’s exactly what I’m afraid of,” Jane muttered under her breath.
Carlos flopped onto the couch, watching with mild amusement. “Relax, Jane. Evie’s a pro. Worst-case scenario, you end up looking like Mal.”
“Excuse me?” Mal shot him a glare.
Jay grinned, leaning against the dresser. “Yeah, I dunno, Carlos. I think Jane could totally rock purple hair.”
Jane’s eyes widened. “Wait, what? I didn’t agree to—”
“Relax,” Evie giggled. “No purple—unless you want it.”
“I don’t.”
Mal pouted. “Boring.”
Evie grabbed a makeup brush. “Okay, let’s start simple.” She dusted a soft pink blush over Jane’s cheeks. “See? Nothing crazy.”
Jane peeked at her reflection. Okay… that wasn’t too scary.
Carlos tapped his chin. “Can we give her, like, a cool scar? You know, make her look tough?”
Jay snapped his fingers. “Ooh, yeah! Like, a warrior princess vibe.”
