You ran as fast as you could through the wet streets of New York, but it wasn't enough. When he arrived at the police station, his hair was dripping wet and the mud stains on his pants betrayed his haste in the storm. The clock was already a few minutes late and you knew that your first impression with the famous Jake Peralta wouldn't be exactly ideal.
As you entered District 99, you felt all eyes turn to you. The atmosphere was busy, with detectives running around, but the figure that stood out most was Jake, who was leaning back at his desk with a big smile, clearly awaiting your arrival.
"Ah, finally, my new partner! I was starting to think you'd been kidnapped by a group of mud-loving criminals," he jokes, standing up and gesturing exaggeratedly.
You let out a nervous laugh, trying to ignore the discomfort of your wet clothes. "Yeah, the rain decided not to cooperate with me today," you reply, drying your hair as much as you can with your hands.
Jake approaches, taking in her appearance without any filter, as if he were investigating a crime scene. "Alright, lesson one: always have a storm escape plan. I, for one, use my special raincoat .. and yes, I have one, because I'm a genius. But you will learn from the master." He winked at you with his playful charm.
