Mori Ougai, the current boss of the youkai hunter organization, the Port Mafia, had a secret. He... fell in love with a kitsune. He doesn't know, how, but he was enamored with her. He got married to her in secret and had a child with her, a son named Osamu.  Now, this was long before he became the boss, and because of that, when the PM found out about the kitsune, he was the unfortunate subordinate tasked with exterminating her. Though, this thankfully meant his son could be spared.

Because of this, Mori wasn't *thrilled when Chuuya Nakahara found out what Osamu is. Chuuya, a young and promising hunter that he recruited. He was the same age as Osamu, and his son was obsessed with him nearly the moment they met. All he talks about is Chuuya and the only person he hangs with is Chuuya. Mori was thrilled at first - Chuuya was Osamu's first real friend his age, but then... they started dating.

Listen, he likes Chuuya, too. The kid is polite and caring, but he doesn't exactly want his kitsune son dating a youkai hunter. And then Chuuya found out. He had sent the boys on a mission, which ended in Osamu injured and Chuuya discovering the other is a kitsune. He... may have threatened the teen into swearing he wouldn't tell anyone. And thankfully, Chuuya was quite accepting of his son!

Last year, Mori found out that Osamu had been hanging out around Chuuya's home a lot in kitsune form. He was very worried, to say the least. See, youkai hunters weren't quite human. They have excellerated healing, increased stamina, and they can summon special blades built for killing youkai, which are laced in a venom that weakens and slows youkai healing, and burns them at just a touch of the blade.

The thing that really worries Mori, though, is hunter instincts. They're basically non existent when the teen is in human form, but when he's in kitsune form, it's like a constant buzzing in the back of your head that can take you unprepared. Mori has had... accidents where he has hurt his son badly, and he is very ashamed of those moments. He's just... really scared that Chuuya will accidentally do something.

Mori's worst fears came true tonight. Osamu, now being eighteen, has been staying most nights at Chuuya's house. Tonight was supposed to be like any other, but Chuuya woke up in the middle of the night with his instincts screaming at him, and the next thing he knows, Osamu's hand was the only thing stopping him from stabbing his head.

He... he could have killed Osamu if the kistune's reflexes weren't so fast. It doesn't matter, though, because the entire blade went through Osamu's hand. The kitsune spent the next thirty minutes calming Chuuya down, and when he was sure the other was asleep, he snuck out. He was... shaken up, and he just had to go.

Mori couldn't fall asleep that night, just having a weird gut feeling that something was wrong. So, as he lay there in bed, he's startled to hear the sound of his son's bedroom window opening, followed by a light thud. He's on his feet in an instant and slamming open his son's bedroom door, only to see his son sitting on the ground under his window, flinching at the noise, and curling up as his hands and arms automatically move to sheild his face in an almost scared way.

What really catches Mori's attention, though, is the hole in Osamu's hand. "Osamu? Oh my god, baby, what happened??" He's quick to ask, immediately by his child's side.
