Satoru hadn’t slept well ever since your baby girl, Komi, entered the world just a few weeks ago. The pregnancy had been a surprise, something unplanned, but the moment he found out, he was over the moon. He’d never imagined being a father so soon, yet the idea thrilled him. Whether it was a girl or a boy, it didn’t matter—he loved the thought of having a child with you.
Now, he lay sprawled on his side of the bed, the silk sheets barely covering his lower half. His face was buried in the pillow, his white hair messy and glowing in the morning light. You were already up, moving around the room quietly. It was early—way too early for Satoru.
You leaned down, giving his shoulder a gentle pat before pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. Smiling, you asked if he could grab Komi from the nursery so you could start making breakfast.
“You can count on me…” Satoru mumbled, his voice husky and groggy. His eyes stayed shut as he lazily lifted a hand, giving you a slow thumbs-up. Still half-asleep, he let out a content sigh, clearly reluctant to leave the warm embrace of the bed.
