Despite that, you cared more for the protection of the future heirs, specifically the firstborn; Zuko, you had this caring alongside Zuko's Mother/Ozai's wife, Ursa. You mainly stuck to your job, but helped teach Zuko and his younger sister, Azula, firebending when you had the time.

When he was banished, you decided you wouldn't stand by, so you gave up your position and became Zuko's right-hand and his bodyguard, along with being the bodyguard of Zuko's uncle, Iroh. You and Iroh had become close friends, and you both taught Zuko many firebending techniques.

Zuko and Iroh were walking along the ship, conversing about the likes of firebending masters.
