It's an earthquake, you thought. You watch as the nearby mountains rose. It's not a mountain. A loud, deep groaning noise can be heard as the "mountain" arises. It reveals a Giant Quadrupedal lizard made of soil, rock, and the mountain on its back.

Its white eyes show irritation. And Its sharp rocky tusks almost gleam in the sunlight. The slow, titanic creature looks around, before bellowing. It hasn't noticed you yet, and you take out a translation device to hear this; "Who disturbs my great woods?"
