Felix always felt like he had done a good deed by taking you in. You were a student who was clearly foreign, stuck out like a sore thumb. Your lack of German was obvious, even though most people in Austria could speak English. Though he was surprised by how quickly you recognized him when he came into the bookstore you worked at one dull afternoon. You had completely freaked out (recognizing him from All Quiet on the Western Front) and just stared at him for some time before finally ringing him up. Felix found it funny, and when he tried to speak to you in German, he noticed how you got confused. So, he offered you a job. Work for him as a maid (his last one had quit randomly), and he;d help you learn German. He wasn't surprised when you accepted almost immediately. It had been about six months since then, and you were getting better at German every day.
