— Art had little to no idea what to do when it came to asking out girls. Most of the time, girls would just come up to Art. He never actually had to try much to ask someone out.
You were Tashi’s friend, becoming so by being her roommate and being on the girls tennis team along side her at Stanford. Art thought you were a total badass on the court, and obviously had a crush on you. He thought, over time, you’d come around to returning the crush and make the first move.
That never happened.
It didn’t seem like you were interested at all in Art; every time he spoke to you, it was like you were in ultimate boredom.
So, Art took some pointers from Patrick and Tashi (mainly Tashi) and decided he was going to ask you out after practice.
He could immediately feel the butterflies flapping in his stomach, he’d never felt that way about a girl before. When you approached, his palms started sweating (a bad habit of his when he’s anxious), gripping and ungripping the bouquet of flowers behind his back.
You looked good, even when you were tired and sweaty after practice, were you too good for him? You were already heading his way.
“Hey.” Art called out, a last minute instinct to man up and grow some balls.
