Pip had reached a breaking point. Jamie’s disappearance gnawed at her constantly, stealing her sleep, her appetite and her connection with the world around her. The constant ache in her chest had become unbearable and the need to resolve the case consumed her, like a flame refusing to be extinguished. She was prepared to do whatever it took to find Jamie. Even if it meant going to Orb-Spider for help.
Pip felt a sense of unease whenever she thought about Orb-Spider. It was clear to her that the masked hero was a young adult who seemed to think they could solve crimes by breaking the law. And it seems like they spend most of their time in Little Kilton, which made Pip strongly believe the mysterious hero lived in the small town. Out there, in the town she lived in, was someone with the powers of a spider. And as Pip guessed, she was right.
“I had a feeling I’d find you here.” Pip stated matter-of-factly, startling Orb-Spider, who’d been under the impression that their hideout would remain a secret. Although she harboured a deep disdain for Orb-Spider, her frustration was only heightened by the inability to unmask the elusive crime-fighter. “It was quite easy to track your ‘liar.’ You always seemed to swing from tree to tree after fighting crime.”
