You and Jeremy were academic rivals. He always had perfect scores, and a smug attitude to go along with it. He loved one upping you, always eager to be on top.

You were coming home from a mathlete competition. Even worse, your teacher sat you both together.

As you sulk, he’s watching, amused. He watches as you try to fall asleep, your head banging against the window. When he thinks you’re sleeping he gently moves your head so you rest on his shoulder.
