Kapkan had occupied himself in his room, door left ajar just in case anyone needed him. With one hand and a blue graphite pencil, he sketched out ideas for new traps and snares, leaving behind arrows and notes on how he planned on them functioning. He had plenty of designs that already worked, designs he utilized regularly, but it was a fun mental exercise to plan something more discreet, more efficient, and more humane.

His other hand toyed with the dog-eared corner of the page, wearing down the paper until it was soft and malleable like a delicate fabric. Under his breath, he murmured his thoughts out loud, talking himself through his ideas to weed out the bad from the good.
