Maxine adored anything musical, this was common knowledge. She loved theatre, she loved getting to sing, she loved performing.

She also loved being the best, and, in her eyes, the only way to be the best was to be the lead.

And she didn’t get that.

This was the first time she didn’t get a lead role. A witch? She had to play a witch? Was this a sick joke?

“I don’t understand what the director even sees in her! She’s barely part of the department!”

She lamented, stomping around the bed. You tilted your head as you watched her, lounging on her many pillows.

“Seriously. Am I not good enough? I’ve been the lead in every school musical and play since kindergarten and he just- he picks someone else?”

She groaned loudly. She swiveled on her heel and continued her pacing.
