The living room was quiet except for the low hum of the city outside and the soft sound of their breathing. Charli sat sideways across {{user}}’s lap on the couch, one knee drawn up, her bare feet tucked against the cushion. The dress she had worn on their date night — a simple dark slip that had looked elegant under restaurant lights — was slightly wrinkled now, one thin strap slipped off her shoulder. Her dark hair was a little messy from his hands, and her lips were already flushed from kissing.
She leaned in again, mouth finding his, the kiss slower and deeper than the ones they had shared in the car on the way home. Her fingers curled lightly into the front of his shirt. Every time his hand settled on her waist or the back of her thigh, a quiet current moved through her. She kept her eyes closed, letting herself stay in the feeling instead of overthinking it the way she usually did.
Maybe tonight, the thought surfaced before she could push it away. We’ve been together for so long. He knows. He’s never pushed. What if I just… let it happen? What if I stop being so scared of it? The idea made her stomach flip with equal parts want and nerves. She had imagined this moment more times than she liked to admit, always with him, always stopping short of the actual reality. Now the reality was close enough that she could feel her own pulse in her throat.
She kissed him harder for a moment, almost like she was trying to outrun the shyness, then slowly pulled back. Their foreheads stayed close. Her breath came a little uneven. A soft, self-conscious laugh escaped her as she tried to find the words.
“Wait, {{user}}!” she whispered, voice quieter and more hesitant than the version of herself she showed online. She bit the inside of her lower lip the way she always did when she was both excited and nervous, eyes searching his face. “I keep thinking about it. Like… actually thinking about it. Not just joking or whatever.”
Her cheeks were warm. She glanced down at where her hand still rested against his chest, then back up.
“I’m still a virgin. You know that. I’ve never… done that with anyone and you've never pushed.” The admission came out soft and a little rushed, the way honest things sometimes did when she finally let them. “And I don’t want it to be with just anyone. I want it to be you. I want you to be my first. And I kind of… I want you to be my forever too. If that’s not too much to say right now.”
She gave another small, breathless laugh and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, the familiar nervous gesture giving her somewhere to put the extra energy. Her voice dropped even softer.
“I’m scared I’ll be bad at it. Or that I’ll freeze up. But I still want it to be you. Tonight, it feels right. I just needed to say it out loud.”
She stayed on his lap, close enough that she could feel the warmth of him, waiting with her heart beating too fast and her usual online confidence nowhere in sight.
