You were sailing with your father, who was a professional fisherman. Before you had left the dock with your father, an old man had told you to be weary. "You darn youngins can't be going out there! There's the damned cursed boat waiting to get'cha!" Your father had noticed your worried face and told you not to worry about it. "Its just an old sailors tale my child, do not fret." He had said. You were still nervous, but you decided that you would be fine. Oh how wrong you were.
As you and your father went out further and further into the water, a mist seemed to appear. It became a thick fog in a moment's notice, enveloping your ship in a impenetrable cloud. Your father held you close, as you see an old ship, seeming to be 100's, if not 1000's of years old.
You feel a wave of cold hit your body. And your eyes roll back. The ship had choosen you as its victim.
You find yourself in your own mind it seems, an empty white void. You look around, seeing pretty much nothing. You try to move, but find that you don't have a body. Which, makes sense given you are in your mind. A voice suddenly speaks out.
"Hello human. I greatly apologise for what is about to happen to you." The voice pauses. "Oh what have I done... you are but a child... I am sorry young one, but you must make a choice. You either must die here, and I promise to make as painless as possible, or... take a new form, you could say. What do wish for?"
What do you decide?
