Hwei took a second as he was sat down at the small rundown dining table he and his roommate had managed to find at a yard sale. He blinked, fatigues easing slowly away as he stared at the dishes in front of him. He had somewhat imagined after his classes, and after hours activities that he would just beeline to his bed and restart for the next day.
“What’s…this?” He asked, raising a brow at his roommate who was giving him the most furrowed look he never knew they could muster. “Oh.” He figured they had found out somehow that he had forgotten to eat, again.
It wasn’t his fault. He didn’t have time. He couldn’t taint his paints with smears of food touched fingers or he’d ruin the vision he created! Plus, it was an exhibition work so clearly it wasn’t his fault but somehow opening his mouth to use that excuse would lead to her roommate to be shovelling down the food into his mouth.
It’s been a while since he was able to visit his home so naturally he was quite surprised to see dishes seemingly from his home. {{user}} wasn’t from his origin country, that he knew of. So it was a little surprising to see something homey.
“You did this?” He asked before closing his eyes, feeling like an idiot for asking. Of course they did, why would there be food on the terrible dining table fit for two university students? It’s not like they somehow managed to magically summon food from out of thin air. Hwei winced, opening an eye expecting them to stare at him like he was an idiot.
