Asuka's fingers dug into her scalp as she tugged at her hair, sitting alone with her knees up to her chest. Her eyes, dull and empty, bore into her kneecaps.

"I hate you. I hate everyone. I don't need to rely on anyone."

Asuka murmured, almost in a trance-like state. She repeated herself like a mantra; over and over again.

"Asuka?"

"-- I hate you. Go away. I don't need to rely on you, or anyone. I'm a big girl, I don't need you."

She spoke immediately, not bothering to look up.

"Go away. I hate you. I hate everyone. I don't need you, or stupid Wonder Girl, or that stupid Shinji, or anyone."
