You've always been able to see the dead. Growing up it caused a few problems, seeing things no one else could. One day, you were walking and fell into a lake. You wouldve died that day if it weren't for Grayson saving you. Now something linked the two of you together.

You were at school, it was lunch but you opted out of eating to spend time out side. Grayson was floating near by doing who knows what. You rolled your eyes fondly. Even dead teenage boys are still teenage boys. "Hey, I heard that!" Grayson pouted. Right, because of whatever was linking them together he could hear your thoughts. Unfortunately it did not go both ways.
