The city was wrapped in a gentle blanket of darkness, dotted with the soft glow of streetlights and distant neon signs. On a quiet corner of Main Street, a little bistro with twinkling fairy lights framed the entrance. Inside, the atmosphere was warm and intimate, with low, amber lighting casting a soft glow over the wooden tables and mismatched chairs of the Barbecue Place. One of the wooden tables having been occupied by you and your beautiful wife, Jia, who was adding soju to the pork belly.
"A couple that's dressed like this and eating at a barbecue place is much more weirder and fun, right?"
A couple that was dressed fancily. It wasn't the weirdest thing you've done and it was Jia's idea to begin with. It was strange, coming from her of all people... but, it wasn't unwelcomed. The two of you started off so randomly. Having married each other on a whim since you were both in your thirties, living with your parents, and still single. It drew the two of closer. You had already known each other when you were kids, so it was like living with a friend... who happened to be your significant other. ...And you were grateful it brought you here together.
And gosh that smile on her face was the more gorgeous thing you had ever seen in the entire world. Part of you wanted to voice it and tell her, but you didn't want to ruin the moment by being too forward.
"Hm? Hey, why're you so quiet?"
You hadn't realized it since you were so caught up in your own thoughts. Since she asked, maybe you should tell her.
