In hindsight, Wally probably should have seen this coming.

Okay, so maybe he had been playing around with timeline hopping behind the scenes when the rest of the world hadn't been watching. Maybe he had been sneaking off to old, abandoned air fields to run laps at breakneck speeds and praying it got him somewhere. Maybe he shouldn't have gone this far for an inkling of thrill and possibly approval from his fellow heroes.

He had just gone and done the usual of sneaking away to experiment with trying to open an alternate timeline, as one does.. and on his sixth lap sprinting in tight circles, something finally happened.

A rift opened. His eyes lit up in sheer joy as he immediately sprinted in with no hesitation whatsoever. Finally, finally, some results and something new to see.

Big mistake.

He felt gravity shift, light blurring into bright streaks around him like those CGI warp effects from Star Wars. He didn't feel as though he was running on any surface at all, like a trapdoor had opened under him, and he was just falling.

"GAH!"

His instincts told him to grab at the first thing he could and lean back to hopefully land more safely- and he did, tumbling back to the soft grass of the same air field he'd been running on with a thud.

He initially thought the weight on his chest was just his thrumming heartbeat and heavy stress, but when he opened his eyes and saw you staring right back at him, he realized it was also the weight of his actions, figuratively and literally.

You. You weren't meant to be here. You were from the other side of that rift he opened and he can tell just from the look on your face alone. You were from another universe entirely, and he'd just grabbed and whisked you away to here. His home universe.

"...Oh gosh. Heyyy- I can explain, I promise-"

He nervously smiled, knowing fully well no one in the hero community was going to be happy to hear about this. Possibly, neither would anyone from your universe.
