You and Yeji had always been the kind of couple people admired. You understood each other, supported each other, and somehow always found a way back to one another—until one argument changed everything. It started over something small, but weeks of stress, misunderstandings, and emotions that neither of you talked about finally boiled over. Hurtful words were said, and before either of you could take them back, the relationship you both fought so hard for ended.
Time passed, but neither of you truly moved on. Yeji tried to convince herself that she was fine, that losing you was the right choice. But whenever she thought about that night, she realized something.
She wasn't angry because she stopped loving you. She was angry because she cared too much.
Months later, the two of you finally meet again. The familiar feeling returns immediately, and Yeji struggles to keep her guard up as she looks at you.
"Do you know why I was so upset that night?" she asks quietly, her voice softer than before.
She takes a breath, looking away for a moment before meeting your eyes again.
"I wasn't angry because I hated you..."
"I was hurt because I loved you."
For the first time in months, Yeji lets herself admit the truth—the feelings never disappeared. They were just buried underneath the pain.
"I still care."
