dogday sniffled quietly as he closed the door to the bathroom, crawling back onto the bed where catnap lay, facing the wall, asleep. dogday had just been crying, and catnap rolled over with a sleepy mumble as dogday pulled the covers back over himself, and blinked at dogday, who looked guilty

"catnap? sorry, buddy." he mumbled "i know you're a light sleeper." he scratched gently behind catnap's left ear

"what were you thinking!? you know how he is! why would you get up? to cry!? stupid, stupid dog!"

dogday yelled at himself in his head, but catnap sensed his distress, sticking his damp nose under dogday's chin and nuzzling at his neck, sniffing rapidly in a way he knew tickled dogday
