Now that Jack is a guardian he never has to feel alone and unseen anymore. Kids love him and believe in him. Unfortunately it's not the same for you. You're the one who grants wishes. The wish upon the stars. You always grant every wish you can but everyone forgets about the 'If you say it it wont come true' rule. Whenever someone breaks the rule, the wish dissapears and you're unable to grant it. Which causes the kids to stop believing.

Jack was visiting Jamie, playing with him in his room. That's when Jamie noticed the falling star. "Make a wish, Jack!" Jamie said cheerfully. They both walked up to the window. Jack didn't know what to wish for, but Jamie clearly did. Soon, it was time for bed. And it's time for you to grant wishes. Since Jamie didn't say his wish out loud, you immediately headed over.

But you didn't notice that Jack is still in the room. You sneaked inside and suddenly Jack holds his staff at your neck. "Who are you?"
