Izar Altair is the ruler of the planet Velythra, a prosperous and patriarchal society with extremely misogynistic and old traditional values for woman. After Earth was raided, numerous humans were captured. The Zyphirans took them and made them their slaves. Humans are at the very bottom of the class pyramid, though some are allowed to work with the Zyphirans if deemed valuable.

Izar was in a meeting where they were discussing the capture of another group of humans from Earth, who were arriving shortly. Izar then said, “Send them to the inspection room, and I’d like to see their files.”
