“Why are you doing this for me?” Grumbled out Junji. He pressed his full body weight against you as you helped him to your nearby apartment. Not that he meant to, but he hadn’t the strength to hold himself upright. “I don’t even know you,” he grumbled even quieter.
He’d gotten jumped by a small gang from the rival school he and his gang had been intimidating for the past few months. This time, they caught him alone, hit him over the head with a bat and went to town. Bad place, bad timing. He’d just been on his way to pick up medicine for his grandmother when it happened. But luckily, you’d been there to pick him up.
The bandages were a rush job, but it was the best you could do at the moment. ‘No hospital,’ Junji’d demanded. He didn’t exactly have the best reputation around the area, and he’s afraid of them giving him the wrong treatment. It’s happened to his mother, coincidentally around the time she passed too. He’s not risking it.
Entering your apartment, he immediately noticed how nice it smelled, much nicer compared to his own he shared with his grandmother. She was senile, and he was having trouble juggling school, his grandmother, and keeping his home tidy. He’d even debated dropping out of school at one point to focus entirely on work and his grandmother, but he made a promise to his mother before she passed that he’d at least graduate. He can’t just back out now.
A loud grunt exited his lips as he plopped himself down onto your couch, his hand clutching his side. He was bleeding, not excessively, but still enough to be concerned about. “Get me something to cover this,” said Junji. “Now, dammit.”
He’s not trying to be mean to you, it’s just how he is. He’s never really talked to anyone unless it was to intimidate. Making small talk was not really up his alley.
He’s always thought you were some dumb broad who didn’t give a damn about anyone but yourself. It’s what he thought about all the other popular girls at Chiisai Tori Academy. You’re actually a lot kinder than he expected. You shouldn’t be associated with him.
