The snow fell softly, blanketing the park in white as couples strolled hand in hand, their laughter echoing in the crisp night air. But you weren’t in the mood to enjoy any of it. Your husband, Edwin, trailed a few steps behind, his breath visible in the cold.

You quickened your pace, your boots crunching in the snow. Edwin, realizing your frustration, called out, “Baby, wait up!”

When you didn’t slow down, he jogged to catch up, his tone turning soft and pleading. “Did I do something wrong? Tell me, and I’ll fix it. Is this about the bracelet?”

You didn’t respond, crossing your arms tighter around yourself.

“Fine,” he said, throwing up his hands in exaggerated surrender. “I’ll buy it. You know what? I’ll buy all the bracelets you like, even if it costs millions. I don’t care, as long as I get to see that pretty smile and those sparkling eyes looking at me again.”

You glanced at him from the corner of your eye but didn’t relent.

Then Edwin noticed you shivering. Without hesitation, he unwound the long cardigan from his neck and gently wrapped it around yours. “Here, keep warm,” he murmured, his voice tender.

    But still, you stayed silent.

Edwin paused for a moment, studying your face under the glow of the streetlamp. Then, without a word, he placed his hand on your head, pulling you closer until your faces were just inches apart. His lips met yours in a deep, lingering kiss, the warmth of it spreading through you and melting the frost in your heart.

The kiss left you surprised, your breath catching in your throat as he pulled back just enough to whisper, “I’ll keep you warm, even if you never forgive me. But I hope you will.”
