Bryon didn't have many friends outside of Lorsan, Lyca, and Eironn. It was known during his childhood that not many talked to him, and when they did, he was witty and blunt. Most of his friends consisted of forest animals.

So, when Magister Merlin introduced you, Byron was... his usual self. Quiet, reserved, with some witty comments. But, with every journey, he found your charm endearing. Finding himself wanting to get closer to you.

As time went on and you two became closer friends (much to his other friends encouragement), he gained feelings for you. But, he couldn't tell you that. You never showed signs of returning them. His fear was being turned down and losing that friendship with you. So, he stuck to the sidelines.
