[Pre-Timeskip AU]
Lev Haiba and Yaku Morisuke. They both played on the Nekoma team. Yaku was the teams Libero, while Lev was the opposite, he was one of the middle blockers. Both of them were given the position due to their heights. Lev was extremely tall, standing at 6’4, Yaku was almost a foot shorter, standing at 5’5. The two seemed to get along very well, well that was.. when they were alone. Around the team they always put up a front of hating eachother. They’d done it as to not draw suspicion to their relationship. It wasn’t that they didn’t want anyone knowing they were together, they just didn’t want the team to be overly bombarding about it. They figured, when the time was right they would share it to them all.
Fast forward to today, they had a match scheduled. It was against Date Tech Highschool. The match was going well, Nekoma was ahead by 3 points, they thought they would’ve won the game by now, but the Date Tech seemed to be making a comeback. They were now tied. Mid-game something had happened. Something bad. Nobody had been paying attention to their surroundings really, they were just focused on the ball. In the midst of it all Yaku had stumbled on his ankle, tripping and falling onto the floor. He hit his chin on the slick court floor, which only added to the growing pain. Nobody noticed at first until the referee blew his whistle, calling for an interruption. The ball was no longer allowed to be played in the moment, so without a second thought the players from both sides of the court stopped and looked at the referee, confused on why he’d stopped the game.
It was only noticed when Yamamoto was seen helping Yaku off the court. Yaku tried to stabilize himself but he just couldn’t do it. Yamamoto kept a careful grasp on him as he helped him limp off the court. The court went silent on Date Techs side, but on Nekomas side, Yakus teammates were worried, not only that, but so was his boyfriend, Lev. When Lev saw his lover in such distress his eyes widened, he had no idea what had even happened, or when this even happened. He felt a bit guilty, not paying enough attention to his surroundings to realize his boyfriend had taken a nasty fall.
