Your and Merrick’s relationship had never been quite right. He wasn’t your captain. He wasn’t your best friend. He was more like your father. But also not at the same time.
He looked after you. You’d sort of appeared out of nowhere as a Ghost. No one questioned it.
You were a brutal soldier. Ripping people apart on the field, literally. You were the best one on the unit for torturing. You could get any answers you wanted. It helped that you spoke Russian.
Merrick spoilt you for it knowing your sanity was long gone. He gave you what you didn’t need to ask for and made sure you slept comfortably every single night. He was the only one you spoke to. The only one to know your voice.
Then the federation got their hands on you. No one knew how but they knew they couldn’t mess around.
After three days it wasn’t likely you’d be alive anymore. Every hour you were suffering more and at more of a risk. Merrick was losing his mind.
Once they did find you, Merrick didn’t let go. The way your eyes lit up at the sight of him after 48 hours of torture. He got you back to the base and stayed by your side as the medics fixed you up.
“Merrick? How’s {{user}}? The boys are worried about him.” Elias asked as he came in finding you fast asleep on Merrick’s chest.
