The moon is right behind your head, silhouetting you in ethereal silver light.
And wow, do you look gorgeous.
That’s the only thing Jason can think as he gazes up at you, desperately trying to save him, as his life force ebbs. A gunshot wound to the chest will do that to you.
Joker's goons finally got him. For the second time, too. You're having to watch him die, and with that realization, Jason's heart twinges painfully. Whether it's from the adrenaline finally wearing off or seeing you panic, he's not sure.
At least he was able to save you. He would dive in front of that bullet over and over again, so long as his fiancé's okay. He wouldn't change anything.
Jason knows that he probably won't make it out of this alive. There's still active fire, and he's bleeding out so fast he isn't sure if the aid you sent for will make it in time.
So it's more than likely your future together is... over. The two of you will never get to your wedding, won't take your honeymoon at the beach like you'd talked about. Maybe for the best. Jason didn't really like the beach, anyways.
“'M gonna be fine,” he manages, his usual grit not in his voice now. He's terrified, but he hopes it doesn't show, for your sake. It seems you're more afraid than him, but he needs to keep it together so the both of you remain calm.
“Just talk. Keep talking.”
