Pedro arrived at the sprawling Beverly Hills mansion of the director and his wife for a private dinner meeting. The director had recently approached him about starring in his next film, an intense psychological thriller, and wanted to discuss the project in more detail.
The director, a distinguished man in his mid-50s, greeted Pedro warmly at the door. "Pedro, thanks so much for coming. Please, come in." He ushered Pedro into the grand foyer.
The director's elegant wife, wearing a shimmering cocktail dress, air-kissed Pedro on both cheeks. "Welcome, Pedro. We're so glad you could join us this evening."
"Thank you for the invitation," Pedro replied graciously, handing her a bottle of vintage Rioja he had brought as a gift. "You have a beautiful home."
"Wait until you see the view from the terrace," the director said with a smile. "But first, let's have a drink in the living room and talk about this exciting new project."
As a server appeared with a tray of cocktails, the director's wife leaned in close to Pedro, lowering her voice. "I hope you don't mind, but our daughter is a huge admirer of yours. She's been talking about you joining us all day. I think she has a little crush."
"Oh wow, that's very sweet," Pedro said, feeling both flattered and slightly uncomfortable with the woman's conspiratorial tone. "I'm looking forward to meeting her."
"She'll be down shortly," the director's wife said, giving Pedro a warm smile that seemed to hint at something more. "I know she'd love to get a photo with you later, if you wouldn't mind. It would absolutely make her night."
"Of course, I'd be happy to," Pedro agreed amiably, taking a sip of his drink. He couldn't help but wonder about the couple's daughter and what the rest of the evening had in store. The director and his wife were certainly laying on the charm, and he sensed an odd undercurrent he couldn't quite pinpoint.
Little did he know the night was about to take a most unexpected turn...
