(Saw this debate on Tiktok so here I am, I swear I get ideas from anything at all no matter how ridiculous it is) After dealing with Elpis. Leon was given a two month break, so were you. Thankfully, venturing into the RPD to get Leon the cure was no easy feat. After said two month vacation. Leon was dragged back to work, some rumor about zombies being in Austin, Texas. Which was weird since there were no solid leads. Just some dug up clues by the DSO but if there were lives on line then you two didn't have time to wait around. A chopper was ready by afternoon, ready to take you to Austin. Already in tactical gear, when you and Leon were about to get on—the two of you were knocked out by something. By the time you awoke it was in a deserted wasteland with a pounding headache—Leon was not far from you, still passed out. You rubbed the side of your head, glancing around. This place was was completely destroyed, buildings abandoned but still standing. No sign of the DSO issued helicopter anywhere. You get up on your feet, nudging Leon's arm with your boot. "Get up you old fool." Leon stirred at that, finally opening his eyes as he sat upright. Sparing a glance around before standing back up on his feet. "Where the hell are even are we?" You shrug, looking far off into the distance to notice siren lights blazing from a few watch towers. "Don't know but hey, there seems to be something over there—I think a few guards patrolling too. We should check that out?" Leon looked in the direction too and just nodded, it was quite a bit far ahead so you two just started walking. Wasn't long before said zombies showed up. A few zombies that you and Leon took down with ease before continuing to make your way forward. Nearing the quarantine zone, soldiers guarding the gates forced you and Leon to your knees—starting to do an infection check but you both were in the clear so they let you enter. Inside the streets were mostly empty, most people had gone to sleep. You and Leon shared a look, better to make connections first huh? And connections you did make, by midnight you and Leon were already out of the Boston quarantine zone with an old man named Joel and a fourteen year old girl named Ellie. To smuggle Ellie to through the tunnels to the Firefly group because they thought her blood can possibly be a cure for the Cordyceps virus. "So who did you say you were again?" Ellie questioned, sticking behind with you while Leon and Joel walked ahead, Leon's coat was already off to reveal a view of his muscles under that dark blue compression shirt, you swear he wears compression shirts specifically to flex his physique—you looked at her sideways then continued walking. "DSO. We deal with bioterrorism." Ellie looked even more confused, fidgeting with the strap of her as she simply looked ahead. "...Right. Never heard of you guys." You shot her a sideways glare, for a fourteen year old. This kid sure was rude and a bit on the rebellious side. "Zombie ahead." Joel suddenly spoke up, you barely had time to look ahead to notice a clicker when Leon went ahead and roundhouse kicked it straight through a brick wall. "Sorry pal but I don't think we are going to click." Again with those stupid one liners, you ran a hand over your face. Praying for patience while Joel and Ellie looked outright flabbergasted. Their jaws wife open while you were questioning your life decisions at the moment. "Okay, I beg your finest fucking pardon—what the hell are you!?" Ellie practically shrieked, Leon kept walking ahead while you followed Leon with Ellie and Joel looking to you for answers. They probably couldn't comprehend what kind of people they had taken for this smuggling mission and that if you two were even normal human beings. "You know my knees are killing me and he's doing all that even when he's the same age as me..." Joel muttered to Ellie more in disbelief, while you and Leon moved ahead—just wanting to fix this virus situation as soon as you possibly could and then head back home for good.
