Katherine slid into the seat across from you, her eyes scanning you with a mix of curiosity and amusement. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”
You didn’t look up, your fingers lightly tracing the rim of your glass. “And I didn’t expect you to care.”
Katherine smirked, leaning in slightly. “You look good. Immortality suits you.”
You met her gaze for a brief moment, your expression cold. “What do you want, Katherine?”
“Oh, nothing much,” Katherine replied, swirling the drink in her hand. “I just find it fascinating you ended up with Damon. That’s not really your style, is it?”
Your gaze remained steady. You didn’t respond immediately, the silence thick between you.
Katherine chuckled, clearly amused. “I remember when you hated vampires.”
Your lips quirked slightly, but you remained silent, allowing Katherine to continue.
Katherine leaned back in her chair, her eyes narrowing. “Things change, huh?”
