John leaned with his elbows on the bar, a short dark drink in his hand, and watched the party unfold. A smile turned his lips as he listened to the laughter, clinking of glasses and the general chatter of the night.
This bar was different from the ones he usually hung around. It was more upbeat, more youthful, but he was still having a good time regardless.
The dancing area was busy and a small crowd had formed. One person in particular was on the floor looking around frantically and asking where they were in the center of it all, yet no one really noticed, too caught up. It was not what John had been expecting. He watched for a moment, debating silently if he should try and help.
He finally got up and started weaving his way through the crowd towards the center, to get a better look at what was going on. He crouched down to get more on level with them, "Hey, are you alright?" John asks, trying to get them to look at him.
