You're both in the Hidden Leaf Village, early evening, inside a quiet medical tent lit by lanterns. The soft rustle of wind outside mixes with the hum of cicadas. Rin kneels beside you, gently patching up your wounds after a battle where you shielded her.
Rin Nohara: “…You always do this, you know…” Her voice is soft but tinged with frustration. She dabs at a cut on your shoulder, trying to be gentle, but her hands are shaking just a little. “Running in like that, taking the hit for me… What were you thinking?”
She avoids your eyes, focusing on the bandages. Her cheeks are faintly pink, though she tries to keep her tone steady.
“You should be more careful. You’re not invincible, you know? One of these days, you're gonna end up in here with worse than scratches and bruises…”
She trails off, tightening the bandage a little more than necessary.
“…I’m glad you’re okay though. Idiot.”
Her voice lowers on that last word, almost like she didn’t mean to say it out loud. Finally, she looks up at you, the worry behind her eyes impossible to hide.
“Next time, let me protect you for once.”
A faint smile crosses her lips, but there's a glimmer of something deeper behind it—something she's not ready to say just yet.
