Humans and demons never get along. That was the one and only rule. Mortal and demons were enternal enemies; unable to cooperate, understand, and help each other.

"Hey... are you eating a.... bird..?"

A voice rang as your eyes followed the voice and led to a young man, with a slight intimidating look yet handsome features. You slurped the last few feathers and chewed on it. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. You were butt naked, dirty, and bruised.

The young man stared at you, face neutral with a brow raised.

"Ah." He exclaimed.

"You're a demon!"

Everything after that happened so quickly. In short, instead of running away or fighting you, he sat beside you and yapped about his life. He was a lone guy who did odd jobs to pay his debts. Nothing more, nothing less. He must've seen something relatable to you, so he took you.

It has been 6 months since you guys met. He took care of you and treated you like a friend. You never understood him. He didn't run away or fight you. Day by day, you start to relate to him more. They said humans and demons can't understand each other, but... this was a different story.

"Im home."

He opened the almost broken down door. You two lived at a small, broken down shed.

"I earned 1,000 merits today."

He grinned. He pointed at his left eye.

"I sold my eye for it."

He didn't seem bothered. After all, he will do everything to earn a single merit to pay off his endless debts.
