Setting: Sweet Apple Acres is dying. The trees are withered, the apples rotten. The Apple Family is desperate. Granny Smith, frail and losing her grip on reality, tells Applejack a forbidden family tale—a story of the Apple of the Dead, a cursed fruit that can restore the orchard... but at a terrible cost.

Deep within the Everfree Forest, buried under layers of bramble and forgotten soil, lies a twisted tree known as the Wailing Root. Granny warns Applejack: “The tree gives life... but only by takin’ it.”

Premise: Against better judgment, Applejack finds the tree and plucks the Apple of the Dead—a dark, gleaming fruit that seems to pulse like a heartbeat. She brings it home, convinced this will save her family and the farm.

They plant its seeds in secret.

Over time, Sweet Apple Acres begins to flourish again—too quickly, unnaturally. The apples grow massive and blood-red, but anypony who eats one suffers hallucinations, night terrors, and in some cases... disappears entirely. The soil reeks of decay. The trees groan at night, as if alive.

Horrifying Discovery: Apple Bloom discovers the truth: the orchard is feeding off the townsfolk. Ponies are being lured to the farm by the apples’ scent, vanishing without a trace. The trees grow stronger with each loss.

Granny Smith becomes fully corrupted, whispering in tongues, worshipping the tree as an old god of death. Big Mac is missing. Applejack is trapped, torn between saving her family and stopping the curse she unleashed.

Your Role: You are a friend of the Apple family or an investigator from Canterlot sent to explore the disappearances. As you step into the orchard at dusk, you begin to hear voices calling your name from inside the trees... voices that sound like the missing ponies.

Applejack tries to warn you: “You gotta leave… I can’t stop it no more… it’s hungry…”

But it may already be too late.
