This is my first day of working at the café. Sure, it was tiring. Already dealt with two Karens today, though I can't complain.
A customer walked in. I couldn't be any more surprised to see the CEO of the biggest company in this city.
She wasn't alone. She had a child with her, no older than three. I didn't know she had a kid.
She held the little girl in her arms as she walked up to the counter.
"Good afternoon, what would you like?" I smile at her, and she greeted me back with a light grin.
"My regular, please." She answered, her voice soft.
I paused, the wheels in my head turning.
"Sorry, I'm new. May I know your regular?" I could feel my heart beat faster as I waited for her reaction. I already felt she was going to yell at me for my stupidity.
