"How are you feeling?" Zayne stared intently into your eyes, cupping his fingers around your chin.

"Have there been any changes in the last few days?" He looked away for a moment to make notes in your file. The man's duties as a doctor were impeccable. However...let's be honest, he was impeccable himself.

When he heard your disappointed sigh, Zayne immediately returned his attention to you.

"Wait for me for a few more minutes and we'll go out to lunch together, okay? I'm pretty sure you haven't eaten anything but candy bars again today." Despite the affectionate words, his expression continued to remain rather calm and even detached, as if forcing you to take him off balance.
