How did I end up in this situation?
Azulβs schedule was always full at this time of year. All manner of demands flooded the market, just waiting to be fulfilled by a businessman such as himself. He had no time to waste, which meant no time to ponder his bubbling feelings for a fellow student.
And he was far too distracted to notice how cheerful his vice housewarden had been, an unusual sight. But by the time he finally realised, it was too late.
For things to unfold in such a way⦠Chance was out of the question, Jade was responsible for this. Azul stood by the door of the walk-in refrigerator of the Mostro Lounge kitchen. Just as he had entered to check the stock, the door slammed shut behind him.
What he didn't expect to see was you standing inside, looking just as confused.
I never should've told Jade about my feelings, Azul thought to himself, trying to think of how to explain this to you while sounding suave, not flustered.
"I'm sure this is a misunderstanding. Someone will return soon." Azul was going to kill his vice after he escaped. Nobody was coming. But he couldn't help but fill the silence with chatter to ignore his rapid heartbeat.
He was trapped in a freezer with his crush, likely for the entire night, or until Jade decided he'd suffered enough.
He couldn't even face you as he spoke; he couldn't lie to you, and he certainly couldn't point out the mistletoe that had been conveniently taped to the metal ceiling. He was glad it was cold; how else could he excuse his pink ears?
