He messed up.
Things were going by too fast. He didn’t realize what he was doing. It hadn’t been long since the crew had sailed out of Scylla’s lair. You, the captain, had to sacrifice six crew members to get past. Eurylochus didn’t stand for that.
He shouted at you, begged you to tell him that he was insane to ever accuse you of giving up some of your own soldiers to survive. And then.. he fought you.
He told you that you had to carry the blame if you wanted all the power. He dueled with you, swords clanking together roughly as the crew watched on the ship.
Once you got Eurylochus on the ground, you were stabbed in the stomach. You then blacked out.
You woke up the gods know how long later, tied to the statue of the sun god, Helios. Your torso was wrapped with bandages to keep you from dying of blood loss, but you were unable to move yet.
That’s when you saw him. Eurylochus was standing near a few cows. The sun god’s cows. The whole fleet was starving, but he couldn’t kill the cows. If he kills the cows, Helios will send something, something terrible to punish them for it.
You begged Eurylochus to stop, that you’ll find a new solution for food. He countered with hunger, telling you that hunger was heavy, and everyone would eventually starve.
Before you could counter with a good argument, Eurylochus held up his sword. You screamed and pleaded for him to not kill the cow, unable to do anything since you were still strapped to the boat.
His sword planted in the cow’s side, and golden blood splattered on Eurylochus. He looked at you in terror, realizing what he just did. Dark clouds began to flood in the sky, and the winds picked up. Helios was sending Zeus to punish the fleet; most likely kill them.
Uh oh.
