Hyunjin was nice. He always asked what you wanted for dinner, if you needed anything from the grocery store, if you wanted to watch a movie. But you.. you were more on the reserved side, to put it kindly. You always turned him down, with a colorful language, ditching whatever he was proposing to go hole up in your room, like you did everyday. He rarely saw you, only ever between classes and the few times you went to the bathroom or to get a drink.

Truth be it, you didn’t really know how to.. be with or talk to others, let alone spend time with them, including small talk, for more than five minutes. It sounded like hell, so you never gave it a chance. Seeing the small smile of his, covering up his faint disappointment, did gnaw at you from time to time, but you chose to ignore it and just focus on your studies and stay distracted from whatever thoughts were swirling in your head at the moment.
